Wash Day | Mix Masala DC

Hey everyone, happy Monday 🙂

This wash day was about a week and a half after my last one; I had been wigging and wearing hats in between so there had been zero manipulation to my hair. I am currently trying to work down my DC stash so I am mixing products that are close to being finished, so in that way I can finish 2 or more products in one wash day *score!*.

I had an evening wash day that lasted from around 18:00 till 22:30, this is including putting my hair in perm rods and drying it for 30 minutes. Let me not give you any more spoilers, here is how everything went…

Mix MasalaDC (1)

Prepoo: Coconut oil. I used it to detangle and immediately jumped into the shower.

Shampoo: Aunt Jackie’s Oh So Clean Moisturising & Softening Shampoo

Deep Conditioning: A yummy mixture of Dabur Vatika Black Seed Hair Mask Treatment Cream, Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturising Conditioner, AphoGee 2 Minute Keratin Reconstructor and Castor Oil. My new brand of conditioner smelled so great, I think I may be on to something. I used my steamer to get the mixture way into the hair.

Leave-Ins: Beautiful Textures Tangle Taming Leave-In Conditioner and Motions CPR Triple Action Leave-In Conditioner

Moisture and Sealing: AfroBotanics Conditioning Moisturiser and Olive Oil

Styling: I used water and the Schwarzkopf Smooth ‘n Shine Conditioning Foam Wrap to dampen my hair and give it a slight hold, I then put my hair in perm rods, the process took about 45 minutes. I sat under my soft bonnet dryer for 30 minutes to get the excess water out before I went to sleep. In the morning I had a lovely head of curls which I rocked through the day.

My hair tends to turn brown towards the ends, at first I thought it was because I use honey. However, I haven’t used honey on my hair in the loooongest time, so I guess that’s just how it is. I’m not complaining though – I kinda like the colour.

I have pretty much given up on preserving curls overnight because I totally suck at it – so the next day, I wore a head scarf and had only the top of my hair out. It was a pretty good save for my ‘do.

By the third day, it was a dud – so I put my hair up in a doughnut bun for the week. I used my steamer to get the last curls out of my hair and used Afrobotanics Conditioning Moisturiser and castor oil to seal the deal.
